SESAC Hosts Tin Pan South Showcase

SESAC hosted an in-the-round showcase during NSAI’s “21st Annual Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival” at Nashville’s Rutledge nightclub.  Award-winning songwriters Brice Long (“Nothing On But The Radio”), Jim Lauderdale (“Halfway Down”), Lance Miller (“Beer With Jesus”) and Jon Stone (“A Woman Like You”) performed an impressive array of hit songs for the packed crowd making for an incredible night of music.

BMI Nashville Hosts Press Lunch for Top BMI Live Earner Granger Smith

BMI singer/songwriter Granger Smith performed three songs off his new album “Dirt Road Driveway” and answered questions from local and national press about being a top earner in the BMI Live program on Tuesday, March 26 in Nashville. The recently upgraded program now makes it easier for BMI performing songwriters who play their music in any size venue to be paid for those performances, and Smith, who played close to 200 tour dates last year and will release his ninth album April 16, is an avid supporter of BMI and a top earner of the BMI Live service. BMI’s Senior Director Writer Publisher Relations Mark Mason introduced Smith as a songwriter who made the BMI Live program work for him by utilizing one of the many products offered by BMI. The technical upgrades to BMI Live provide cutting-edge services to BMI songwriters and publishers and in addition to the functionality of this program, BMI has also made technical upgrades to BMI Mobile, which now enable BMI members to more quickly and easily access and manage their BMI related business needs on an iPhone, iPad or Android mobile device.

Photo by: Bev Moser Country Radio Seminar 2013 was held Feb. 27-Mar. 1 in Nashville, Tenn. at the Nashville Convention Center. This year’s event included more than 20 panels, exhibits and educational presentations, as well as featured speakers and panelists from all areas of the radio and records industry. The New Faces of Country Music Show featured a surprise appearance by Taylor Swift, who took the stage to lend her support to Florida Georgia Line, who will open select dates on her RED Tour, which kicks off March 13th. Songwriters Take The Spotlight At CRS 2013

(Nashville, TN – March 5, 2013) During this year’s Country Radio Seminar, artists and songwriters performed for radio and record executives at showcases and after hour events throughout the week. Events included WCRS Live!, sponsored by BMI and Country Aircheck; KCRS Live!, sponsored by ASCAP and City National Bank; and Bob Kingsley’s Acoustic Alley, sponsored by Country Top 40 and co-sponsored by Suntrust Bank. These events gave hit songwriters the opportunity to be in the spotlight and perform the songs that many of the radio programmers attending had played throughout the year.
