Night two of the 23rd Annual Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival Presented by Regions Bank saw more music, story telling and laughter, as more than 70 songwriters entertained across Nashville. Surprises and special guests were a constant delight, and they weren’t all of the two-legged variety. Hit songwriter Jim Collins brought an adorable golden retriever named Buddy into the Bluebird Café and then sang “Two Old Dogs,” a song he wrote for the Humane Society. The crowd loved the moment, and Buddy exited immediately following the song. Josh Thompson sat in with Jessi Alexander, Jonathan Singleton and Tony Lane at The Listening Room Café early show. Kip Moore was a surprise guest on the Listening Room Café late show and sang “Crazy One More Time” and his new single “I’m To Blame.”
Third Day lead singer Mac Powell was part of an ensemble that played acoustic versions of some of Christian Music’s biggest hits at BB King’s Blues Bar. Hit ABC show “Nashville” star Chip Esten dropped in on that round, after he finished live-tweeting last night’s episode. Pat Alger kicked off the Hard Rock Café late show with “True Love,” which became a hit for Don Williams, and laughter abounded at The Station Inn late show with Brian Callihan, Don Poythress, Adam Sanders and the proverbially funny Wynn Varble.
Tonight’s highlights include new artist Adam Craig, Tonic lead singer Emerson Hart, Joey Hyde and Jon Nite at The Sutler Saloon late show. The Vince Gill, Leslie Satcher, Bobby Tomberlin and Bill Anderson round at the Station Inn late show is sure to be another sell-out, and new hit maker Kelsea Ballerini will join Josh Kerr and Josh Okeefe at the Commodore Grille early show.
