REVIEW: Brittany Mulgrew Showcase at S.I.R.

Wednesday March 18th S.I.R. studios in Nashville was home to a high energy industry showcase for up and coming artist Brittany Mulgrew. She performed a hand full of songs she self penned, as well as a cover song to a room full of excutives and media from Music Row.

Mulgrew originates from Pittsburgh where she recently graduated with her Masters degree in Education from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. Her songwriting took hold in high school and she released her first project titled, Kissing Strangers album in 2006. Mulgrew's sound falls into a modern, pop-country category which she hopes will garner some attention on Music Row.

"I think my influences run somewhere between pop and country. Artists like Carrie Underwood, Sugarland and Keith Urban have definitely helped me shape my sound, but I also grew up listening to singers like Christina Aguilera and Avril Lavigne," Mulgrew says.

The 23-year-old first came to Nashville in the fall of 2008 to begin recording tracks with producer and guitarist Larry Beaird, of Beaird Music Group, Inc. Mulgrew, who writes all of her own material, cut a number of demos with the veteran producer, garnering interest from several industry execs in the local Nashville music community.
